Aaron Glenn Under Heavy Pressure as Jets Host Red Hot Browns
Head coach Aaron Glenn tries to save his Jets tenure against Cleveland while former teammates offer support.

High pressure in New York
Aaron Glenn needs a win badly. The head coach has lost 17 of his first 21 games in New York. His team has dropped three games in a row and eight of their last nine dating back to last season. Even worse, Glenn has a 0-8 record against teams with winning records.
This week brings a tough opponent in the Cleveland Browns, who sit at 3-1. Cleveland enters on a three game winning streak. If the Browns win, first year coach Todd Monken will have as many wins in five games as Glenn has managed in 22.
Former teammate Ronnie Lott reached out to offer support. The Hall of Famer, who won four Super Bowls with San Francisco, played with Glenn in 1994. Lott praised Glenn's work ethic and recalled his time in Detroit. He noted how hard it is to change a losing culture, but expressed hope that Glenn can turn things around.
Offense, weather and roster changes
The Jets have suffered through a 14 year playoff drought and nine straight losing seasons. Changing that legacy takes time. Still, the front office is looking ahead. New York holds three first round picks in the upcoming draft, while Cleveland holds two. Both teams could be shopping for a quarterback.
On the field, rookie pass rusher David Bailey is still adapting to the league. He has two sacks and three quarterback hits in 90 pass rushing snaps. Defensive line coach Karl Dunbar noted that opponents are already chipping the rookie with tight ends and running backs.
Rain is expected on Sunday. New York has played nine home rain games since 2022, which is more than any other team in the league. They hold a 5-4 record in wet weather. Meanwhile, offensive coordinator Frank Reich continues his traditional style, using pre-snap motion on just 56 percent of plays.
On the roster front, edge rusher Nate Lynn was promoted to the active 53 man roster. The move follows a season ending pectoral injury to Braiden McGregor.
