The Las Vegas Aces suffered a 99-89 loss to the Indiana Fever on Tuesday, but the biggest talking point happened late in the game. Aces star A'ja Wilson received a technical foul after confronting a fan at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

With just over four minutes left in the fourth quarter, Indiana's Sophie Cunningham was called for a foul on Wilson. While Cunningham protested, a fan sitting behind the baseline stood up and pointed at Wilson.

Wilson stepped toward the fan, telling him not to point at her. Her teammates Chelsea Gray, Jackie Young, and Kierstan Bell had to pull her away. The fan was initially escorted out but was later allowed to return to his seat. Arena security stated there was no violation of the Fan Code of Conduct.

Wilson Demands Respect

After the game, Wilson expressed her frustration. She called the fan's actions unacceptable and was surprised he was allowed back in.

"You don't step toward me," Wilson said. "You never should sit and point at me." She apologized to her teammates for the technical foul but added that she will not tolerate such behavior. She told coach Becky Hammon that a fan would never do that to LeBron James.

Hammon defended her player, saying she had never seen Wilson react that way before. Hammon noted that Wilson clearly felt disrespected and that such actions do not belong in an arena.

A Recurring Issue

This was not the first time the Aces had issues with fans in Indiana. On August 6, two fans were escorted from their seats after Jackie Young complained about them chirping at her. Those fans were also determined not to have violated the conduct code.

The league is reviewing the latest incident. Game 3 of the series will take place in Las Vegas on Thursday.
