Arsenal Fight Back Against Leeds Amid Manchester City Uncertainty
Bruno Guimaraes came off the bench to score the winner as Arsenal rallied for a 2-1 victory over Leeds United at the Emirates.

A slow start at the Emirates
Arsenal worked hard to take all three points on Saturday. The match kicked off under a strange mood after Manchester City were found guilty on 114 counts of breaching financial rules. City are appealing the verdict, leaving everyone unsure about what the table will look like.
On the pitch, Mikel Arteta saw his team struggle early. Some players picked up injuries on international duty, including Kai Havertz, while Declan Rice had not played a match for nearly three weeks. Havertz had a header saved by James Trafford after 21 minutes, which was Arsenal's first shot of the game. The home side also strayed offside four times in the opening 16 minutes as passes went astray.
Big money substitutes make the difference
Leeds took the lead 55 minutes in. Gabriel Gudmundsson sent a cross from the left, David Raya failed to cut it out, and James Justin fired high into the net.
Arsenal responded well. Riccardo Calafiori scored from close range to level the match. That made it five goal involvements in ten games for club and country for the defender this season.
Arteta then turned to his bench, introducing Bruno Guimaraes, Jurrien Timber, and Viktor Gyokeres, a trio that cost 176 million pounds in transfer fees. It paid off in the 70th minute. Martin Odegaard found Rice, who flicked the ball to Guimaraes for a low finish past Trafford. Late substitutes Piero Hincapie and Mikel Merino helped protect the 2-1 lead.
Bouncing back from Brighton
The result gave Arsenal a lift after their 3-0 loss at Brighton in their previous match. Arteta said his players had a point to prove after that defeat, noting that it was tough coming back after three weeks without 16 players.
Leeds manager Daniel Farke also credited the home side. Farke said it is down to the mentality Arteta has created that Arsenal can find a way to win even on a difficult day.
