Hansi Flick has Barcelona playing some of the best football on the planet right now. Before the international break, the Spanish side won their first eight matches across all competitions. They scored 36 goals and let in just eight.

This run includes seven straight league wins and a 5-1 win against Feyenoord in the Champions League. Barcelona have managed to score five or more goals in five of those eight matches.

A lot of this success comes down to Raphinha. The winger has been playing as a central forward after the club failed to sign Julian Alvarez. He has responded with 14 goals in eight games. He even scored back to back hat tricks against Racing Santander and Sevilla.

His hat trick against Sevilla was perfect, meaning he scored with his left foot, right foot, and his head. He has now made the best goal scoring start of any Barcelona player in history, beating Cesar Rodriguez's record from the 1948 to 1949 season.

Lamine Yamal is also shining. The teenager has eight goals and six assists in eight games. He is now the youngest player in LaLiga history to reach 50 assists.

Barcelona's goal difference of plus 28 in their first eight games is nearly unmatched in modern history. Looking back at the top five European leagues, very few teams have ever started this well.

In England, Everton's 1894 to 1895 season is the best on record with a plus 23 goal difference. In the Premier League era, Manchester City managed a plus 21 goal difference in the 2016 to 2017 season.

Roma set the Italian record in the 2013 to 2014 season with a plus 21 goal difference. In France, Paris Saint Germain started with a plus 24 goal difference in the 2017 to 2018 season. Germany's best was Bayern Munich in the 2016 to 2017 season with a plus 26 goal difference.

Only Real Madrid in the 1928 to 1929 season had a better start in Spain, racking up a plus 31 goal difference. Barcelona's current run is truly one for the history books.
