Bears Activate Kyler Gordon to Roster Ahead of Falcons Game
Chicago Bears nickel corner Kyler Gordon has been activated off the PUP list and could make his season debut against Atlanta.

Gordon Activated to Active Roster
The Chicago Bears have activated nickel corner Kyler Gordon off the physically unable to perform list and onto the 53 man roster. The team announced the move on Saturday. Gordon spent the offseason rehabbing a calf injury that placed him on the PUP list at the start of training camp.
He was moved to reserve PUP on Aug. 30 and sat out the first four games of the season. He returned to practice on Sept. 30 and has been a full participant in every session over the past three weeks.
Bears head coach Ben Johnson shared his thoughts on Friday. He said Gordon has done a great job taking everything assigned to him so far. Johnson added that he feels good about Gordon being able to contribute and help the team out, noting he is encouraged by what he has seen.
Roster Changes and Recent Struggles
To clear space for Gordon, the Bears placed defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo on injured reserve. Odeyingbo suffered a quad injury last week against the Green Bay Packers and was ruled out for Week 6. Coach Ben Johnson stated earlier in the week that Odeyingbo would miss some time, though the team originally hoped he would avoid injured reserve.
Gordon was drafted 39th overall in 2022, making him the first selection ever made by Bears general manager Ryan Poles. In April 2025, Chicago made Gordon the highest paid primary slot corner in the NFL when he signed a three year extension worth $40 million with $31.25 million guaranteed.
However, injuries limited Gordon to just five games last season including playoffs. He suffered multiple soft tissue issues that led to two separate stints on injured reserve. Next Gen Stats showed he allowed 16 catches on 24 targets for 243 yards and three touchdowns last year. His passer rating allowed of 139.4 was the third highest in the league among cornerbacks with at least 20 targets, trailing only Trevon Diggs at 154.6 and Nick McCloud at 142.2.
