Friction over a decade old ticket deal

Back in 2015, the Milwaukee Brewers introduced a special offer. Fans could pay $1,000 for a Timeless Ticket, which guaranteed admission to any single game in franchise history. Now, the club is in the World Series for the first time since 1982. Several hundred supporters who bought the pass stepped forward to claim their seats, but the redemption process caused immediate frustration.

Many supporters were unhappy with the seat locations provided by the team. Fans believed they were promised top seats right behind season ticket holders. Instead, buyers found themselves offered spots far away from the action.

Club responds to fan complaints

Danny Fochesato bought his ticket on his 27th birthday, planning to save it for a World Series appearance. The promotion allowed buyers to redeem the main pass and purchase three additional tickets at full retail price.

When Fochesato tried to redeem for the series against the Tampa Bay Rays, the form only offered 400 level or standing room spots. He noticed better seats open during the public sale. He eventually bargained for three 400 level seats for Game 2 on Saturday and one lower level seat in the right field corner for Game 1 on Friday.

Brewers president of business operations Rick Schlesinger acknowledged the mistake. Schlesinger stated that the organization erred in internal communications about logistics, admitting the club did not live up to the spirit of the program. To resolve the matter, the team is allowing fans who applied before the deadline to keep their World Series tickets while also returning their Timeless Ticket to use again in any future season.
