Commanders Star Terry McLaurin Out Against Colts
Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin is inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts due to a hamstring injury.

Major Blow for Washington
The Washington Commanders will be without star wide receiver Terry McLaurin for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts. McLaurin suffered a hamstring injury during Friday's practice. Although he was initially listed as questionable, the team officially ruled him inactive.
A team source noted there was hope on Friday that McLaurin could play. However, that optimism disappeared by Saturday afternoon. McLaurin is one of seven inactive players for the Commanders this week. This is a tough break for McLaurin, who missed seven games last season with a quad injury. He had started to find his rhythm, catching six passes for 77 yards and a touchdown in last week's 33-31 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. That was a big step up from the first two games of the season, where he caught just four passes.
Quarterback and Receiver Depth Tested
McLaurin is not the only key player missing. Quarterback Jayden Daniels is also out after dislocating his left elbow. There is hope that Daniels can return for the Week 6 game against the New York Giants.
In the meantime, backup quarterback Marcus Mariota will lead the offense. He has a strong connection with McLaurin, having completed 38 passes to him for 601 yards and five touchdowns over their nine games together. Washington will have to find other ways to move the ball without this tandem.
Without McLaurin, rookie receiver Antonio Williams could see more action. Dyami Brown and Trey Burks are options to fill the X receiver role. Stefon Diggs, who usually starts opposite McLaurin, can also play there. Diggs leads the team with 13 catches and three touchdowns. McLaurin currently leads the team with 141 receiving yards. Tight end Chig Okonkwo is back after missing two games with a hamstring injury, which should help the passing game.
