Dodgers set rotation for Milwaukee series
The Los Angeles Dodgers have set their starting pitchers for the opening games of the National League Championship Series against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Tarik Skubal gets the ball in Game 1 on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET at American Family Field. Yoshinobu Yamamoto will start Game 2 on Monday at 5 p.m. ET. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts announced the initial plans on Friday before the team traveled to Milwaukee for a workout on Saturday.
Skubal came over from the Detroit Tigers in a trade on August 2. He pitched six innings of one run ball against the Atlanta Braves in Game 1 of the NLDS. Yamamoto allowed one run over seven innings to defeat Braves ace Chris Sale in Game 3.
Looking at the rotation depth
Milwaukee plans to respond with Jacob Misiorowski in Game 1 and Logan Henderson in Game 2. Misiorowski is the likely NL Cy Young Award winner.
Skubal has given up six runs with five earned over 12 innings against Milwaukee this season. Yamamoto allowed two runs in 13 regular season innings against the Brewers. He also pitched a complete game against them in Game 2 of last year's NLCS sweep, giving up one run.
Roberts did not announce starters beyond the first two games. Blake Snell is likely for Game 3 at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday after getting only 11 outs in the team's single NLDS loss. Tyler Glasnow is the likely choice for Game 4.
