Jacksonville Jaguars Unlikely to Host Three London Games in 2027

Jacksonville Jaguars team president Mark Lamping announced on Saturday that the franchise is unlikely to play three international home games in 2027.

The team signed an agreement with the city of Jacksonville for a $1.4 billion renovation of EverBank Stadium. That agreement allowed up to three overseas home games in 2027. However, Lamping described that option as a remote likelihood.

All other home games in 2027 will take place at Camping World Stadium in Orlando while construction continues. The renovated stadium, which the team calls the Stadium of the Future, is set to be ready for the 2028 season. Lamping explained that the option for three international games was added back when the team did not know whether they would play in Orlando or Gainesville in 2027.

London Experience and Future Schedule Rules

Lamping mentioned that it would be natural for Jacksonville to play every home game in 2028 at their updated home stadium. However, league decisions and possible shifts to an 18 game schedule could impact those plans. Under current NFL rules, every team must give up a home game once every four years to play internationally.

Jacksonville has played 15 games in London since 2013, with the only break coming in 2020 during the pandemic. Eleven of those matchups took place at Wembley Stadium, while four were at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

This season, the Jaguars have two home games in London. They earned a 19-17 victory over Philadelphia at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last Sunday and face Houston at Wembley Stadium next. They managed this by moving an international game scheduled for 2030 into the 2026 season.
