Suggs Out At Least Two Weeks

Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs will miss at least the next two weeks after suffering a mild bone bruise in his right knee. The team officially announced the medical update on Monday.

There is some good news for Orlando, as tests confirmed that Suggs avoided any major structural damage to the knee. He is scheduled to be evaluated again by team medical personnel in two weeks to determine his timeline for returning to action.

How The Injury Happened

The noncontact injury occurred late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game, where the Magic secured a victory over the New York Knicks. Suggs was pushing up court on a breakaway fast break when his right knee appeared to buckle during his layup attempt with 2:09 remaining on the game clock.

After the play, Suggs stayed down on the floor for several moments in pain. Team personnel eventually arrived to help him to his feet. He walked gingerly off the floor and back to the Magic locker room with assistance from team staff.

Recent Health Issues

Suggs originally entered the league as the fifth pick in the 2021 draft. Over his six year career, the Magic guard has posted averages of 12.6 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game.

Staying on the floor has been a challenge for him recently. Suggs has battled injuries over the past two years, which limited him to playing in just 92 total games across those two seasons.
