Jayden Daniels Out for Commanders Matchup Against Colts
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels will miss Sunday's game against the Colts due to an elbow injury, with Marcus Mariota starting.

Daniels Ruled Out, Mariota Steps Up
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels will miss Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts. Daniels is sidelined for a second straight week with a dislocated left elbow.
Marcus Mariota will start in his place. Mariota recently helped lead Washington to a 33-31 win over the Seattle Seahawks, throwing for 183 yards and three touchdowns.
The team remains hopeful that Daniels can return soon. He could be back on the field as early as Week 5 against the New York Giants.
Injury Recovery and Roster Updates
Daniels participated in limited practice sessions this week while wearing a protective brace on his non throwing arm. Daniels said he had "no problems when doing basic quarterback moves" that involve his left arm, such as taking snaps or handing off. He added that he is not worried about hurting it again.
The injury originally occurred during a Week 2 loss to the Dallas Cowboys when Daniels stumbled and tried to break his fall.
Washington gets some key players back this week. Tight end Chig Okonkwo and linebacker Frankie Luvu are set to return. Okonkwo has been out with a hamstring injury, and Luvu has recovered from a groin issue. Okonkwo signed a deal in the offseason to help provide explosive plays.
However, the Commanders will play without guard Sam Cosmi, who has a concussion, and safety Nick Cross, who has an internal injury. Neither player made the trip to London.
Defensive Adjustments
Luvu's return helps a linebacker group that has been hit hard by injuries. Leo Chenal is out for the season with a fractured neck, and Jordan Magee is on injured reserve.
In their absence, backup Kain Medrano stepped up last week, returning an interception 50 yards for a touchdown. Rookie Sonny Styles also earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording an interception and a forced fumble against Seattle.
