Jayson Tatum Clears The Air Over Jaylen Brown Trade Drama
Jayson Tatum says there is no beef with former teammate Jaylen Brown following Brown's move to Philadelphia.

Tatum responds to social media noise
Jayson Tatum cleared the air about his relationship with former Boston teammate Jaylen Brown after the Celtics beat the New York Knicks 107-103 in their home opener. Tatum put up 36 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists in the victory.
After the game, Tatum addressed Brown posting a cap emoji on Instagram. That comment came after Tatum stated on YouTube that he was caught off guard by the trade that sent Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers in July.
Clearing the air on their bond
Tatum stated there is no animosity, beef, or ill will toward his former teammate. He expressed frustration that conversations focus on social media drama rather than what they accomplished together, including winning the 2024 championship, making the 2022 Finals, and reaching the Eastern Conference finals five times.
Tatum mentioned that he called and texted Brown on the day of the trade. He added that both players are too old to have their relationship debated on the internet and that a direct conversation can settle things. The two teams meet on Nov. 10 in Philadelphia.
Moving forward in Boston
The July trade brought Paul George to Boston and ended Brown's time with the Celtics. Brown was drafted in 2016, while Tatum arrived in 2017. Both players earned multiple All Star and All NBA selections during their years together in Boston.
Tatum emphasized that people should focus on basketball rather than media narratives. He noted that their situation is not like Shaq and Kobe, and he reiterated that he always wants the best for Brown.
