Kelsey Mitchell Breaks WNBA Scoring Record in Fever Victory
Kelsey Mitchell scored 33 points to break the WNBA single-season scoring record during Indiana's win over Toronto.

Mitchell Makes History
Kelsey Mitchell walked into the locker room to a shower of confetti, not realizing she was the guest of honor. Her first thought was that coach Stephanie White had passed another milestone. Mitchell scored 33 points on Friday night to set a new WNBA single season scoring record. Her performance led the Indiana Fever to a 103-85 win over the Toronto Tempo.
With a three point shot in the third quarter, Mitchell passed the previous record of 1,021 points set by A'ja Wilson in 2024. Mitchell has now scored 1,034 points this season. She also scored at least 20 points for her 25th consecutive game, extending her own WNBA record.
Mitchell was highly efficient, shooting 12 of 17 from the field and 7 of 11 from three point range. Teammate Caitlin Clark praised her after the game, saying, "I don't think people realize what she's done this year and how insane it's been."
Clark Shines in Return
Caitlin Clark also had a standout night in her first game back after helping the United States win gold at the women's FIBA World Cup. Clark scored 28 points and tied her season high with 14 assists.
This was the 10th time this season that Clark has recorded at least 25 points and 10 assists in a game. No other player in WNBA history has achieved this feat more times over their entire career.
With the win, Indiana improved to 27-14 with three games left in the regular season. They are tied with the Atlanta Dream. Indiana, Atlanta, and Las Vegas are all fighting for home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Clark explained the team's focus, saying, "Our goal is to gain home court advantage because that is really important, especially in that three game series."
