Mahomes Ties Tom Brady Record With 100th Career Victory
Patrick Mahomes reached 100 wins in 131 starts as Kansas City beat the Chargers 22-6 to stay undefeated.

Milestone victory in Kansas City
Patrick Mahomes reached another major milestone on Sunday. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback earned his 100th regular season win in a 22-6 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.
It was his 131st start, which ties Tom Brady for the fewest games needed to reach 100 career wins in NFL history since 1950. Mahomes joked after the game about how often he ties Brady. He added that it is an honor to be compared to Brady, calling him the greatest of all time.
Spreading the ball around
Kansas City is now 5-0 and remains the only undefeated team in the AFC. Mahomes led the offense without his top two wide receivers, Rashee Rice and Tyquan Thornton, who missed the game due to injuries. Rice has a right hamstring injury and Thornton has a dislocated left ankle.
Mahomes completed passes to eight different teammates during the win. Xavier Worthy finished with a season high seven catches for 73 yards. Tight ends Travis Kelce and Noah Gray combined for 106 yards, while rookie Cyrus Allen added a 23 yard catch. Mahomes was sharp in the pocket, completing all 13 of his first half passes when he was not pressured.
Perspective after last season
Six year veteran right guard Trey Smith praised Mahomes after the game, calling him the best quarterback of all time. Head coach Andy Reid also praised his play and leadership.
Defeating the Chargers gave Mahomes a moment to reflect on the last meeting between the two teams on Dec. 14 of last season. In that game, a loss eliminated Kansas City from playoff contention, and Mahomes suffered a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee. The 31 year old quarterback noted that last season helped him appreciate every chance to play and have fun on the field.
