Michael Carrick Demands Wins As Manchester United Pressure Mounts
Michael Carrick insists he has the support of Manchester United board members, but accepts he must turn around a six match winless run.

Carrick knows results must improve
Michael Carrick says he retains the support of the Manchester United hierarchy, but he accepts that he must start winning matches to keep his job. United travel to face Como in the Champions League on Wednesday while sitting on a six game winless streak.
The 45 year old manager said he has strong relationships with minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, CEO Omar Berrada, and director of football Jason Wilcox. However, he acknowledges that performances need to change quickly.
Carrick stated on Tuesday that he does not need any reassurance from above. He added that he knows his responsibilities and accepts the reality that winning matches makes everything fall into place.
Squad struggles and injury news
Manchester United are seeking their first away victory in the Champions League since November 2021, when Carrick was interim manager following the exit of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The team faces significant selection issues in Italy, with nine senior players out due to injury, illness, or suspension. Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martínez, Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford, and Ayden Heaven did not make the trip. Leny Yoro is also missing through suspension after his red card in last week's 2-0 loss to Atlético Madrid.
There is good news in defense. Matthijs de Ligt could make his first appearance after missing 11 months with a back injury. Carrick confirmed the Dutch defender is fit, ready, and has been training for several weeks.
