Injury updates on Nico Iamaleava

UCLA quarterback Nico Iamaleava did not start the second half against Oregon and is doubtful to return with an injury. He landed awkwardly on his leg during a second quarter scramble and stayed down on the field.

Trainers looked at him before he jogged off the field. During the second half, broadcast cameras showed him standing on the sideline without pads. Iamaleava has started every game since arriving at UCLA and has thrown for 820 yards and four touchdowns this season.

Quarterback changes for both teams

Ty Dieffenbach took over at quarterback for the Bruins. He is listed as the third string quarterback on the depth chart, while Iamaleava's brother Madden is listed as the backup. Dieffenbach briefly came in during the second quarter and threw an incompletion before Iamaleava returned to the game.

On the next play, Iamaleava threw an interception, which was his third turnover of the half. Dieffenbach then took over under center when the team came out for the second half. The senior from Cal Poly had not seen any action all season. He threw for 1,305 yards and nine touchdowns for the Mustangs last season.

Oregon also made a quarterback switch in the second half. Third string quarterback Brock Thomas replaced Dylan Raiola after Raiola threw his second interception of the game.
