Green Bay Stays Hot

The Green Bay Packers are rolling after a 23-13 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Green Bay started the year with one win and two losses, but Sunday night marked their third straight win. Outside of the three undefeated teams remaining in the league, no squad has a longer active winning streak.

Third down conversions made the difference early. Green Bay came into the game converting only 27.6 percent of third downs, but they converted nine of their first ten against Dallas. On the opening drive alone, Jordan Love hit Matthew Golden for a nine yard touchdown on third down. Golden finished with six catches for 104 yards, though he and Christian Watson also dropped would be touchdowns. The Packers managed only 58 rushing yards, but running back Josh Jacobs could return next week after coming off the commissioner exempt list on Monday.

Cowboys Sputter to 2-4

Dallas struggled from the opening kickoff and failed to score in the first half for the first time since 2021. Dak Prescott threw two first half interceptions in Green Bay territory. Evan Williams picked off one throw, and rookie Brandon Cisse caught the other after CeeDee Lamb slipped on the turf. Green Bay now leads the league with six first half takeaways.

Dallas dropped their second straight game and fell to two wins and four losses. In the Super Bowl era, the Cowboys have never made the playoffs after such a start. The defense allowed at least 20 points for a franchise record 13th straight game. Still, they found a couple bright spots. Quinnen Williams, Elijah Garcia, and Kenny Clark each picked up a sack, while Dee Winters ended a long team drought with an interception.
