Padres Keep Musgrove for NLDS as Brewers Set Playoff Pitching
San Diego keeps Joe Musgrove on the roster while Milwaukee sets its pitching staff for the division series.

Padres Roster Adjustments
The San Diego Padres kept their roster intact after sweeping the Chicago Cubs in the wild card round. Joe Musgrove remains on the team after returning from Tommy John surgery. Musgrove pitched a scoreless ninth inning in Game 1, his first appearance on the mound since 2024.
San Diego placed Walker Buehler on the postseason paternity list for one to three days. Fellow right hander Randy Vásquez will take his spot on the active roster during that time.
Brewers Pitching Decisions
The Milwaukee Brewers decided to carry 13 pitchers, which is one more than they used in the 2025 postseason. Left hander Kyle Harrison earned a roster spot despite struggling late in the year. Harrison held a 2.79 ERA in late August before surrendering 24 runs, with 21 earned, across nine innings in four games between Aug. 31 and Sept. 17. He finished the season 11-5 with a 4.20 ERA, striking out four batters over two innings of relief on Sept. 26.
Right hander Dustin May also secured a spot on the staff. May posted a 5.65 ERA in 10 starts for Milwaukee after joining from the St. Louis Cardinals before the trade deadline.
Milwaukee Bench and Infield Status
Infielder Joey Ortiz made the roster for Milwaukee. Ortiz sat out the final two regular season games with knee and abdominal issues.
The Brewers omitted three players from the group. Catcher Bo Naylor, utility man Brandon Lockridge, and pitcher Grant Anderson were left off the roster.
