Patriots Place Romeo Doubs on Injured Reserve
Romeo Doubs will miss at least four games for the Patriots after injuring his right shoulder on a touchdown catch.

Receiver heading to injured reserve
The New England Patriots placed wide receiver Romeo Doubs on injured reserve on Monday. The move comes right after top target A.J. Brown returned from his own injured reserve stint.
Doubs suffered a shoulder injury during Sunday's 26-19 win over the New York Jets. He landed hard on his right shoulder while making a diving 42 yard touchdown catch. He left the game after the score and did not return.
Doubs has caught 14 passes for 261 yards and three touchdowns in his first year with New England. He will miss at least the next four games. That stretch begins when the 4-2 Patriots visit the 4-2 Chicago Bears. New England then visits the Miami Dolphins, hosts the Green Bay Packers, and faces the Detroit Lions in Munich before their bye week.
Mounting injuries test offensive depth
Injuries have hit New England throughout the 2026 campaign. The trouble started in the spring when tight end Julian Hill suffered a season ending knee injury. Multiple starters have landed on injured reserve since then. That group includes offensive linemen Mike Onwenu, Greg Van Roten, and Marcus Bryant, along with fullback Reggie Gilliam, receiver Mack Hollins, and punter Bryce Baringer.
The Patriots spent heavily during the offseason to rebuild the receiver room for quarterback Drake Maye. They sent a 2028 first round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for Brown and signed Doubs to a four year, $68 million contract in free agency. Brown and Doubs have only played two plus quarters together because Brown suffered a high right ankle sprain in the opener. Brown returned to action on Sunday after being activated on Saturday.
The current 53 man roster now features Brown, Pop Douglas, Efton Chism III, and Kyle Williams at receiver. New England also signed former Dolphins receiver Ryan Miller to the practice squad on Monday. He joins Chandler Brayboy, Kyle Dixon, and Cameron Dorner.
