Injuries Pile Up on Defense

The New Orleans Saints are facing some major defensive issues ahead of their Monday night game against the Atlanta Falcons. The team has already ruled out several key players, which could leave them shorthanded as they prepare to face running back Bijan Robinson.

Linebacker Kaden Elliss has been ruled out with a calf injury. This means he will miss the chance to play against his former team. Elliss was originally drafted by the Saints, but he played three seasons in Atlanta before re-signing with New Orleans this season.

More Defensive Concerns and Questionable Stars

The defensive front is also taking a hit. Edge rushers Carl Granderson and Anfernee Jennings are both out. Granderson is dealing with an ankle injury, while Jennings is sidelined with a knee injury.

To make matters worse, starting linebacker Pete Werner is questionable with a shoulder injury. Werner has not practiced at all this week. Saints coach Kellen Moore mentioned that Werner could be a game-time decision.

Moore explained that they will give it some time. He said, "We obviously still have time 'til Monday night... It's the physical side of this thing, not the mental side. So we'll just let it be evaluated for the next 24 or so hours."

On the offensive side of the ball, tight end Noah Fant is questionable with an abdomen injury. Fant scored two touchdowns last week, so his potential absence would be another blow for the team.
