Starters Sidelined for London Trip

The Houston Texans will play the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in London without two key starters. Running back David Montgomery is sidelined with a groin injury, and safety Jalen Pitre will not play because of a shoulder injury.

Both players suffered their injuries during Houston's 26-3 win over the Tennessee Titans last week. Montgomery and Pitre had started every game this season for the Texans, who enter the matchup at 1-4 against the 4-1 Jaguars.

Backfield and Secondary Adjustments

Second year running back Woody Marks is expected to handle the rushing workload with Montgomery out. Marks has rushed for 149 yards and two touchdowns this year, averaging 3.5 yards per carry. Montgomery has produced 138 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground, but he is averaging a career low 2.7 yards per attempt. He also has seven catches for 67 yards and a touchdown, with all three of his scores coming against the Buffalo Bills in week one.

On the defensive side of the ball, rookie safety Kamari Ramsey is likely to fill in for Pitre.

Tank Dell Remains Out

Wide receiver Tank Dell will also not make the trip across the Atlantic. Dell is working his way back from a severe knee injury from December 2024, which also forced him to miss the entire 2025 season. Dell tore multiple ligaments and dislocated his kneecap after catching 51 passes for 667 yards and three touchdowns as a 2023 third round draft pick.

Houston opened Dell's practice window on Oct. 7 after starting him on injured reserve. He has practiced over the last two weeks without setbacks, but he will not play in London.
