Backing the Leadership

The Tennessee Titans are standing by head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Mike Borgonzi despite a winless 0-5 start. Team CEO Burke Nihill stated that the front office has full confidence in both men and plans to remain patient.

Nihill, who speaks on behalf of controlling owner Amy Adams-Strunk, apologized directly to supporters for the miserable run. He admitted that the organization has let fans down, noting that football is supposed to be fun. Even so, Nihill maintained that the staff will pull the club out of its slump and restore competitive football.

Struggles on the Field

Frustration in Nashville has been building for a long time. Tennessee has dropped seven straight games dating back to Week 17 of last season. Looking further back, the franchise has lost 33 of its last 39 games and has won only six times since the start of the 2023 campaign.

The offense has struggled badly during Saleh's first year on the sideline. The Titans rank last in the league with averages of 246.4 yards and 11.6 points per game. Meanwhile, the defense has produced just two turnovers all season. Saleh stated that the team will stick to its detailed process and expects growth to come from this adversity.

Changes in the Front Office

Off the field, Tennessee has undergone constant leadership changes. The franchise has fired either a head coach or a general manager every year since 2022. Recent departures also hit the business side, with the team firing senior vice president of brand marketing Erin Swartz, senior vice president and chief revenue officer Adam Nuse, and vice president of creative Charles Jensen.

Nihill defended the moves by arguing that a business can stay stable while remaining agile. With a new stadium scheduled to open next season, pressure is growing on the leadership group to turn things around quickly.
