Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Snaps Massive Home Run Drought in Toronto
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit his first regular season home run in Toronto since August 2025 to help the Blue Jays beat Baltimore 8-1.

The Drought Ends
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. finally gave Toronto fans what they wanted on Sunday. The star slugger hit his first regular season home run north of the border since August 17, 2025.
The home run came in the fifth inning of Toronto's 8-1 win against Baltimore. Guerrero hit a 350 foot drive off Trevor Rogers into the left field bullpen. It was his ninth home run of the season.
The hit ended a long streak of 84 straight home games without a home run for Guerrero. His previous longest home drought was 33 games during the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
Celebration and Stats
The home run came in Toronto's 75th home game of the year. It sparked an immediate celebration in the dugout.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider was happy to see his star get back on track. "It looked like it was a walk off homer," Schneider said. "Vlad's our guy. It's just nice to get that out of the way."
Guerrero is batting .265 with 56 RBIs in 135 games this season. He also got a curtain call from the sellout crowd of 41,805 fans. "Obviously it means a lot," Guerrero said through an interpreter.
This was Guerrero's 29th career home run against Baltimore. That is his most against any opponent in the major leagues.
A Big Day at the Plate
Sunday was a massive offensive day for Guerrero. He recorded his second four hit game of the season. He almost had another home run in his second at bat, but he settled for a double off the wall in right center.
While he struggled at home in the regular season, he did hit well in Toronto last postseason. He hit eight home runs in 18 playoff games last October as the team went to Game 7 of the World Series. Three of those postseason home runs came at Rogers Centre.
