Baylor football fans received some highly anticipated news ahead of this weekend's matchup. Quarterback DJ Lagway is expected to return to the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Colorado.
The signal caller has been sidelined for the Bears' previous two games due to an ankle injury. His status took a very positive turn on Wednesday night when the team officially listed him as probable on the injury report. This designation strongly suggests he will be back on the field to lead the offense on Saturday.
The Injury in the Opener
Lagway, who joined the Bears as a transfer from Florida, began his season with high expectations. However, he suffered the ankle injury during Baylor's loss to Auburn in the season opener.
The injury was severe enough to force him to watch from the sidelines as the Bears played their next two games. Lagway missed the matchups against Louisiana Tech and Prairie View A&M. In his absence, the team had to rely on backup quarterback Nate Bennett to lead the offense.
