Chicago Bears Face Quarterback Dilemma Ahead of Eagles Game
Caleb Williams is out for Monday's game against the Eagles, leaving the Bears to choose between Tyson Bagent and Case Keenum.

Williams Sidelined with Injury
The Chicago Bears will be without starting quarterback Caleb Williams for Monday night's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Williams suffered a right hamstring injury late in Chicago's 9-3 loss to the Vikings in Week 2. He is currently considered week to week after failing to practice this week.
This marks the first missed start for Williams since the Bears selected him with the first overall pick in the 2024 draft. It is a major blow for the offense as they prepare for a tough matchup.
Bagent Returns to Practice
Backup quarterback Tyson Bagent returned to the practice field on Saturday in a full capacity. Bagent is still in the NFL concussion protocol and is officially listed as questionable. He did not return to Halas Hall until Friday, where he attended meetings before practicing on Saturday.
Coach Ben Johnson said the priority was to get Bagent healthy first. "And then since it's progressed along, he was able to be in meetings yesterday and now he's in practice today, and so he's right on track," Johnson said.
The Keenum Option
The Bears have not yet decided who will start on Monday. Third string quarterback Case Keenum is also in the mix. Keenum has practiced all three days this week and could make his first regular season start since December 2024.
Johnson pointed out that Keenum and Bagent have different strengths. One has more mobility, but both are smart players. The coaching staff plans to meet to finalize their quarterback plans. Johnson said he feels good about what Bagent can bring to the offense but is happy to have good choices.
Santos and Trapilo Updates
In other injury news, kicker Cairo Santos is good to go. Santos missed practice on Thursday and Friday with a right hip injury but was a full participant on Saturday. He does not carry an injury designation for Monday.
Left tackle Ozzy Trapilo practiced fully all week after being taken off the PUP list in August. However, he will not play against the Eagles.
