How Klint Kubiak Transformed the Las Vegas Raiders Offense
The Las Vegas Raiders are 3-0 thanks to a dramatic offensive turnaround led by head coach Klint Kubiak and veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins.

A Stunning Offensive Turnaround
The Las Vegas Raiders are off to a 3-0 start for the first time since 2021. It is a massive shift from last year when the team won only three games all season. The main reason for this turnaround is new head coach Klint Kubiak, who has completely revitalized the offense.
Last season, under Pete Carroll and Chip Kelly, the Raiders averaged just 14.2 points per game. This year, they are averaging 29.3 points per game, which is tied for seventh in the league. The team is also much more efficient. They went from ranking last in total yards per game last year to 17th this season.
Cousins and Heavy Formations Lead the Way
Veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins has been excellent in Kubiak's system. He has thrown nine touchdown passes, which is tied for the league lead, and has a 107.2 passer rating. Cousins is the first quarterback aged 38 or older to start a season with three touchdown passes in three straight games.
Kubiak is using heavy personnel groupings to keep defenses guessing. In their 35-27 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 3, the Raiders used multiple tight ends or multiple running backs on over 80 percent of their plays. This victory snapped a streak of 39 regular season games without scoring 30 points.
The offense is also getting a major boost from the return of tight end Brock Bowers. After missing two games due to a meniscus trim procedure, Bowers caught 10 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown against the Saints.
