Oregon Quarterback Dante Moore Out for Remainder of Season
Oregon quarterback Dante Moore is not expected to play again this season after sustaining a concussion against USC.

Season Over for Oregon Quarterback
Oregon quarterback Dante Moore will not play again this season, coach Dan Lanning announced Monday. Moore missed the past three games after sustaining a concussion against USC on Sept. 26.
The senior entered the year as a preseason Heisman Trophy contender after deciding to stay at Oregon for his senior season. The Ducks entered the year ranked No. 2 in the AP preseason poll with national championship goals.
Impact on the Field and Offense
Moore suffered the injury during a scramble in the second quarter against USC. Linebacker Desman Stephens II hit him late after Moore tried to slide. An ambulance took Moore to Los Angeles General Medical Center. MRI and CT scans came back clean, but he remained sidelined with a concussion.
Before the injury, Moore completed 69.7 percent of his passes for 926 yards, nine touchdowns, and zero interceptions in four games. Oregon struggled without him, scoring under 20 points in three straight games and losing twice. Backup quarterbacks Dylan Raiola and Brock Thomas both took turns as starters, but neither could find a rhythm.
Coaching Changes and Career History
Following a 21-10 loss to Illinois that ended Oregon's playoff hopes, Lanning fired offensive coordinator Drew Mehringer on Sunday.
Moore started his college career at UCLA in 2023, throwing for 1,610 yards, nine touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in six games before Ethan Garbers replaced him. He transferred to Oregon, sat behind Dillon Gabriel in 2024, and led the Ducks to a 13-2 record in 2025 with 3,565 passing yards, a 71 percent completion rate, and 30 touchdowns. He is currently ranked as the 25th overall prospect in the draft.
