He won the starting job in training camp after beating out the backup options. Gwyn was originally a seventh round pick in 2023 and spent his first three seasons as a reserve player with the Atlanta Falcons.

Rookie Set to Step Up

Baltimore is running out of options at the center position. Backup center Ethan Pocic is also dealing with an injury to his knee. Because of these injuries, coach Jesse Minter announced on Monday that rookie first round pick Olaivavega Ioane is preparing to make his first career start at center.

Ioane was selected with the No. 14 overall pick in this year's draft. He has started the first three games of the season at right guard, but will now have to move to the middle of the line for Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans.

To find extra depth, the Ravens have already started looking for outside help on the offensive line. The team worked out centers Graham Glasgow and Kingsley Eguakun, along with guard Kyle Hergel, on Tuesday.

Gwyn's injury is just the latest setback for the Ravens as they try to replace Tyler Linderbaum. Linderbaum was a three time Pro Bowler for Baltimore. He became the highest paid center in the NFL when he signed a three year, $81 million contract with the Las Vegas Raiders in March. The Ravens also lost Danny Pinter to a season ending knee injury in August, right when it looked like he was going to win the starting job.
