Rays Stay Alive With Wild 12th Inning Comeback in Game 4
The Tampa Bay Rays scored twice in the 12th inning to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 and avoid a World Series sweep.

Late drama saves Tampa Bay
The Tampa Bay Rays kept their season alive on Tuesday night in St. Petersburg, Florida. Down 3-0 in the World Series, the Rays put together a late rally in the 12th inning to defeat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 and force Game 5.
Milwaukee came close to wrapping up a sweep and claiming the franchise's first World Series title. Cooper Pratt hit a tiebreaking solo home run off Ian Seymour in the top of the 12th inning to put the Brewers ahead 3-2.
A wild rally in the 12th
The bottom of the 12th inning changed everything for Tampa Bay. Junior Caminero hit a leadoff grounder against Antonio Senzatela, and Brewers third baseman Joey Ortiz committed a throwing error. Cedric Mullins came into the game as a pinch runner.
Liam Hicks then singled against Shane Drohan, who was making his first pitching appearance since Oct. 15. Jonny DeLuca followed with a single to center field to bring home Mullins and tie the game at 3-3.
Chandler Simpson singled to load the bases. Milwaukee brought in a fifth infielder and moved the defense close. Pinch hitter Ben Williamson, who was 1 for 15 in the postseason, chopped a hit over first baseman Jake Bauers and into right field to drive in the winning run.
Historic odds for Game 5
Game 5 takes place Wednesday night at Tropicana Field. Tampa Bay became just the fifth team out of 26 to avoid a sweep after falling behind 3-0 in the World Series. The previous four teams all lost in Game 5.
Across all best of seven postseason matchups in baseball history, 43 teams have trailed 3-0. The only team that ever rebounded to win the series was the 2004 Boston Red Sox against the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series.
