The Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins is dealing with a hamstring injury. Collins suffered the injury during practice on Wednesday. He is now uncertain to play in the upcoming Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Collins met with team doctors after the practice. A source said that the doctors do not believe the injury is serious. However, the Pro Bowler is still in danger of missing the game on Sunday. The Texans officially listed Collins as limited in practice on Wednesday due to his hamstring.

History of Hamstring Issues

This is not the first time Collins has dealt with hamstring troubles. He had a similar injury in 2024. During that season, the team placed him on injured reserve. He missed five games in the middle of the year because of the injury.

The 27 year old receiver is a key part of the Houston offense. He is a six year veteran. He has been the leading receiver for the Texans in each of the last three seasons. He gained more than 1,000 receiving yards in each of those three years.

Impact on the Houston Offense

Losing Collins would be a major blow for Houston. In the first game of the season, Collins was the top target. He caught seven of his ten targets for 75 yards and scored a touchdown. All of those stats were team highs in the season opening loss to the Buffalo Bills.

The Texans are already missing other targets. Wide receiver Jayden Higgins will miss the entire season because of an ACL tear.
