Arsenal Eyeing Alex Baena As Striker Targets Emerge Across Europe
Arsenal are targeting Atletico Madrid winger Alex Baena while Juventus and Manchester United search for new forward options.

Arsenal target Alex Baena on the left flank
Arsenal are keeping close tabs on Atletico Madrid winger Alex Baena. The 25 year old has recorded five goals and three assists in 11 LaLiga matches this season. Securing his signing could require an offer worth 80 million euros. Bayern Munich are also considering a move for the player.
To help finance potential moves, Arsenal might sell midfielder Martin Zubimendi. Real Madrid and Barcelona are interested in the 27 year old. He has struggled for regular starts since Bruno Guimaraes arrived at the club. Arsenal hope to recoup a fee of around 60 million euros, which is what they paid Real Sociedad to sign him in July 2025.
Juventus and Manchester United shop for strikers
Juventus want to add a physical front man during the January transfer window. The Italian club expects to have around 100 million euros available to spend. They are considering Manchester United forward Benjamin Sesko and AS Monaco striker Folarin Balogun.
Sesko is 23 years old and has not played for United since September 16 against Brighton in the EFL Cup because of an injury. Balogun is 25 years old. Monaco previously accepted a 40 million euro offer from Everton for him in the summer before that deal fell through.
Manchester United are looking at Al Ahli striker Ivan Toney to build depth at the position. The 30 year old joined Al Ahli from Brentford in the summer of 2024. He has scored 12 goals in nine Saudi Pro League games this season.
Further transfer developments across Europe
Barcelona are still keeping tabs on Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall. The 20 year old chose Spurs over Barcelona in 2024. He has made four Premier League appearances this season and is under contract until the summer of 2031. Napoli are also keeping an eye on him.
Al Hilal have ended their interest in Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes. The Saudi Arabian club will not make an approach in January. Fernandes is 32 years old and has eight months left on his Old Trafford deal.
