Baltimore Ravens Quarterback Injuries Leave Rookie Joe Fagnano to Start
Tyler Huntley is out for the season due to a toe injury, forcing the Baltimore Ravens to start rookie Joe Fagnano on Thursday.

Heavy blow to the Baltimore offense
Tests have revealed that Baltimore Ravens quarterback Tyler "Snoop" Huntley suffered a season ending turf toe injury. Huntley was injured in the first half of Sunday's 36-10 loss on the road against the Buffalo Bills.
His injury creates a severe shortage at the position for Baltimore. Starting quarterback Lamar Jackson was injured on the very first offensive play for the Ravens on Sunday. Jackson suffered a thumb injury and is now headed to injured reserve. He could potentially miss the rest of the season as well.
Undrafted rookie steps into the starting role
With Jackson out indefinitely and Huntley's season officially over, the Baltimore Ravens have turned to rookie Joe Fagnano to start Thursday night's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Ravens currently hold a 4-4 record.
Fagnano will be only the second undrafted rookie quarterback to start for the Ravens in the franchise's 32 year history. He will also become just the second undrafted quarterback to make his first career NFL start in primetime. The first player to accomplish that feat was Cooper Rush, who led the Dallas Cowboys to a late win against the Minnesota Vikings in 2021.
Fagnano stepped in during Sunday's game against the Bills for his NFL debut. He finished the game going 10 for 21 for 91 yards with one interception. He was also injured during the contest and wore a brace over his right ankle during Tuesday's practice session.
Despite the ankle issue, Fagnano shared his thoughts after practice. "Every game you got bumps and bruises," Fagnano said. "It's just football, a physical game we play. It feels good, though."
New faces filling out the roster
The sudden injuries have forced Baltimore to rebuild their quarterback depth chart on short notice. Fagnano's backups will be Austin Reed and Kedon Slovis. Both of these quarterbacks joined the Ravens within four days of Thursday's game.
