Seattle Seahawks QB Sam Darnold Out Against Arizona
Sam Darnold will miss Sunday's game against the Cardinals with a quad injury. Drew Lock is set to start for Seattle.

Darnold sidelined with quad injury
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold will miss Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals due to a quad injury. Head coach Mike Macdonald announced the decision on Wednesday. Darnold picked up the injury near the end of Monday night's loss to the Chicago Bears.
Macdonald explained that Darnold will be week to week moving forward. However, Seattle will not place him on injured reserve.
Drew Lock steps back into starting role
Drew Lock is set to start under center against Arizona on Sunday. Jalen Milroe will serve as his backup. Lock missed Seattle's previous two games because of an elbow injury, but Macdonald noted that the Seahawks will get both quarterbacks ready to play.
Macdonald voiced trust in his remaining quarterbacks. He said the coaching staff has full confidence in those guys and will have a plan in place.
Lock has already shown he can produce in this offense. When Darnold missed time early this season with a glute injury suffered on the opening series against the New England Patriots, Lock took over. During his time playing in the first two weeks, Lock posted four touchdown passes with zero interceptions and recorded the sixth best Total QBR in the league at 82.5.
That run included a 31-7 victory against Arizona in Week 2. In that game, Lock finished 19 of 26 for 235 yards and three touchdowns.
Defending champions look to bounce back
The loss on Monday night dropped the defending Super Bowl champions to a 4-4 record on the season. With Darnold sidelined again, Seattle relies on Lock to help steer the team back into the win column against a divisional opponent they have already beaten once this year.
