Moylan blitz shocks Hammers

Scott Parker experienced a wild start to his time as West Ham manager on Saturday. His team went three goals down before the interval against Cardiff City, yet managed to recover and secure a 3-3 draw.

Cardiff forward Jack Moylan took control early on. He found the top corner from 20 yards following an Alex Robertson pass, then doubled the lead from the penalty spot after Morato bundled him over. Just three minutes later, Moylan headed home Joel Bagan's corner to complete his hat trick within 39 minutes.

Visiting fans vented their anger and chanted that the squad was not fit to wear the shirt, with several supporters heading for the exits before the break.

Bowen sparks second half fightback

Parker made changes at the break, sending on Mohamadou Kante and Joel Piroe for Soungoutou Magassa and Taty Castellanos. West Ham returned to the pitch with much more conviction, inspired by captain Jarrod Bowen.

Bowen floated a pass to Divine Mukasa in the 58th minute, who lifted a finish past Nathan Trott and in off the post. Seven minutes later, Arne Engels netted his first Hammers goal after Piroe flicked on another Bowen pass. Max Kilman completed the comeback by touching in a cross from Bowen. West Ham almost took all three points late on through Ezra Mayers and Tomas Soucek.

The draw extends Cardiff's unbeaten home league run to 10 matches over the last two seasons. West Ham stay in eighth place, holding the final playoff position.
