Brian Thomas Jr. Focuses on Work Amid Jaguars Trade Speculation
Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. says he is ignoring trade rumors and staying focused on improving after a tough outing in London.

Ignoring the Noise
Jaguars receiver Brian Thomas Jr. said on Wednesday that he is not worried about recent trade rumors. The third year wideout said he is not wasting time thinking about his future in Jacksonville. He noted that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and stated that he just wants to go out and be the best player he can be.
Speculation picked up after a rough performance against the Houston Texans in London on Oct. 18. Thomas dropped one pass and missed another catchable ball in the first half of a 34-31 loss. He did not play a single snap in the second half and left the locker room without talking to reporters.
Shaking Off Struggles
Thomas wants to move past the London game with a better mindset. He explained that everyone faces adversity, and the only way he knows how to handle it is to keep fighting. He has four drops this season, totaling nine catches for 105 yards and one touchdown through six games.
Coach Liam Coen said Wednesday that Thomas is still an important part of the offense. Coen mentioned that every player has ups and downs, adding he fully expects Thomas to make plays this Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
General manager James Gladstone previously dismissed trade talk before free agency this spring, calling reports that the team was shopping Thomas fraudulent claims.
A History of High Expectations
Thomas entered the league with a standout rookie year in 2024. He set a Jaguars rookie record with 1,282 receiving yards and caught 10 touchdown passes, earning a Pro Bowl selection.
His second season was harder. After Coen planned to build the passing game around the former LSU star, Thomas had trouble connecting with quarterback Trevor Lawrence. He finished that year with 48 catches for 707 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games. This season started with a solid training camp, but early drops brought trade talk back. Thomas said he tries to stay in the middle, block out the noise, and remain locked in.
