Colts Listening to Trade Offers for Starting Quarterback Daniel Jones
The Indianapolis Colts are taking calls on quarterback Daniel Jones as the NFL trade deadline approaches.

Colts Open to Offers for Daniel Jones
The Indianapolis Colts are listening to trade inquiries regarding quarterback Daniel Jones as the NFL trade deadline approaches. Multiple teams have reached out to ask about the quarterback, who remains slated to start Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. The Colts are also listening to trade offers for running back Jonathan Taylor.
Indianapolis head coach Shane Steichen addressed the situation this week, saying that "Daniel gives us the best chance to win right now." The mention of right now leaves the future open, and opposing teams have taken notice.
Contract Guarantees and Financial Considerations
Indianapolis signed Jones in March to a two year, $88 million contract containing a $44 million signing bonus. The team wants to gain draft picks and reduce financial risk. The Colts are open to trading players only if they get offers they consider fair.
Jones carries a $10.51 million injury guarantee for the 2027 season. That amount becomes fully guaranteed on March 15 if he remains on the roster. If the 2-6 Colts get eliminated from playoff contention, the team might bench Jones to avoid risking that money. Jones could also choose to waive the injury guarantee if he wants to play for another team.
Interested Teams and Deadline Timeline
The Baltimore Ravens checked on Jones before trading for former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett. Baltimore needed depth after losing Lamar Jackson and Tyler "Snoop" Huntley to injuries that put both on injured reserve.
The Minnesota Vikings have also been mentioned as a possible destination. Jones has history with Minnesota, and the Vikings possess a Super Bowl caliber defense. Indianapolis can take calls on Jones until the trade deadline at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
