Glenn Addresses Sideline Frustration

New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn dismissed concerns on Monday about a sideline outburst from star receiver Garrett Wilson during Sunday's 28-25 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Glenn called the reaction by the media overblown.

During the fourth quarter, Wilson was seen shouting at someone on the bench. While commentators initially thought it was quarterback Geno Smith, Wilson was actually talking to passing game coordinator Seth Ryan. Glenn spoke to Wilson after the game and plans to talk with him again.

Glenn said the interaction between Smith and Wilson was simply about pushing to get the offense moving, rather than bickering. Both Wilson and Smith stated after the game that they had no personal issues with each other. Wilson was upset with the playcalling in the red zone.

Offense Shows Progress Despite Off-Target Stars

The loss dropped New York to a 2-5 record. Wilson was targeted just three times against Miami and has recorded only six catches for 70 yards over the past two games. Getting him the ball remains a top priority, according to Glenn, but Miami used extra coverage to limit the star receiver.

Despite the defeat, New York posted season highs with 377 total yards and 25 points. Rookie Omar Cooper Jr. went over 100 receiving yards, while Braelon Allen reached 100 rushing yards. Glenn noted that taking advantage of open receivers when defenses focus on Wilson is the right approach.

However, criticism continues to build around Glenn, who has lost 19 of his 24 games in charge. He is now 0-8 in the AFC East. Questionable clock management at the end of the first half drew fresh complaints, as the Jets failed to use their timeouts. Under Glenn, New York has been outscored 107-6 in the final two minutes of the first half. Glenn admitted he needs to improve in those situations.

Looking Ahead to the Raiders

The Jets return home on Sunday to face the Las Vegas Raiders, who sit at 3-4 after losing four straight games. Safety Dane Belton remained positive about the team's direction, saying he thinks the season is salvageable and that the group has a good opportunity going forward.
