Jets Head Coach Aaron Glenn Remains Confident Despite 2-6 Start
Aaron Glenn insists he is not worried about his job security despite the New York Jets dropping three games in a row.

Glenn focuses on improvement during losing streak
Aaron Glenn is facing intense pressure after a rough start to the season, but the New York Jets head coach says he is not thinking about his job security. The Jets have lost three straight games, falling to a 2-6 record. That is only one game better than their eight game record from last season.
Glenn mentioned on a video conference Monday that improving the team each week is his main focus. He acknowledged the nature of the business, but emphasized that he spends his time trying to help the team get better. Over his time with the Jets, Glenn holds a 5-20 overall record. Only the Tennessee Titans have a worse record at 4-21.
Frustration mounts as schedule gets tougher
The team entered the season without playoff expectations as part of a rebuild. Chairman Woody Johnson will decide Glenn's future based on progress. Johnson, 79, has endured 10 straight losing seasons and has only made one in season coaching change in 26 years of ownership, firing Robert Saleh five games into the 2024 season. Johnson has not spoken to the media in more than a year.
The Jets dropped back to back home games to the previously winless Miami Dolphins and the Las Vegas Raiders, who had dropped four straight. On Sunday, the Jets became just the third team in the last 45 years to lose a game after scoring on its first six possessions. They struggled in execution, finishing 2 for 6 in the red zone. Center Josh Myers called the situation incredibly frustrating.
Support from players remains strong
Despite fan criticism over in game decisions and clock management, the players remain supportive of their coach. Linebacker Demario Davis praised Glenn for not wavering or flinching. Glenn received a five year contract to return to the Jets, where he previously played and worked as a scout. He noted that the team still has an opportunity to win their nine remaining games.
What it means for the next game
The schedule gets much harder now. The Jets travel to face the Kansas City Chiefs before hosting the Buffalo Bills.
