Jim Harbaugh Stands By His Staff After Chargers Fall To 0-7
The Los Angeles Chargers fell 24-9 to the Rams, but coach Jim Harbaugh is keeping his offensive staff intact.

Offense Fails To Launch After Bye Week
The Los Angeles Chargers expected a spark after their bye week, but nothing changed on the field. They fell 24-9 to the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium on Sunday. The Chargers have now played two full games in a row without scoring a single touchdown.
This loss puts the Chargers at 0-7 on the season. They are only the sixth team in the Super Bowl era since 1966 to start with seven straight losses after making the playoffs the previous season.
Quarterback Turnover Troubles
Quarterback Justin Herbert completed 24 of 32 passes for 257 yards against the Rams, but turnovers ruined the day. He threw two interceptions, bringing his total to 10 on the year, which leads the entire league. His second pick came when he threw toward tight end Charlie Kolar and failed to see Rams cornerback Trent McDuffie waiting underneath.
This marks the fifth time in Herbert's seven years with the Chargers that he has reached at least 10 interceptions in a season. He is currently on pace to pass his career high of 15 interceptions from the 2021 season. Herbert has also fumbled seven times, losing two of them. He almost lost a third, but Rams defender Aaron Donald failed to grab a strip sack along the sideline.
Herbert admitted after the game that he needs to play better. He said that he would love to have made better decisions, but he has not, and he has to keep working to fix it.
Harbaugh Refuses Staff Changes
Head coach Jim Harbaugh chose not to alter his coaching staff during the bye week. After the loss, reporters asked if offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel would continue to call play duties. Harbaugh answered yes.
Harbaugh noted that he is focused on the game and watching the film. He expressed belief in his players and coaches, adding that the team is the only group that can fix the current situation. Harbaugh also mentioned that he has not been in this position very often as a coach, but stated that everyone must stay dedicated to turning the season around.
