Saquon Barkley Assured He Will Stay With Eagles Past Trade Deadline
Saquon Barkley received assurances from the Eagles front office that he will not be traded before the upcoming deadline.

Barkley Staying Put in Philadelphia
Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley confirmed that the front office gave him assurances he will remain with the team past the November 10 trade deadline.
Barkley spoke to reporters following Sunday night's 27-10 defeat against the Washington Commanders in Landover, Maryland. He said that when the message was relayed to him, it definitely meant a lot. Barkley explained that his mindset has been focused on working through the team's current struggles. He expressed his desire to be a leader who helps the Eagles get out of their current slump and fix their problems.
Barkley also stated that he has nothing but respect for the organization from top to bottom, noting that he believes they do things the right way. He added that it remains an honor and a privilege every time he puts on the midnight green uniform.
Eagles Trade Moves and Losing Streak
The Eagles are currently struggling on the field, having dropped six straight games to fall to 2-6 on the season. Questions about potential player trades have grown as losses continue to pile up.
General manager Howie Roseman has a history of active trade management. He already made a sell move in October by trading offensive lineman Cam Jurgens and a 2027 seventh round draft pick to the Baltimore Ravens. In return, Philadelphia received a 2027 fifth round pick and a 2028 second round pick.
Barkley mentioned that he did not read too much into the social media speculation regarding his future with the franchise. Philadelphia has just one game remaining before the trade deadline, a home matchup against the division leading New York Giants.
Limited Workload Against Washington
Barkley has been dealing with back and hamstring injuries, which limited his playing time once again during Sunday night's loss to Washington.
The running back was kept on a pitch count by the coaching staff. He played on just 22 of the team's 68 total offensive plays during the game. Barkley finished the night with 14 touches, gaining 54 total yards and scoring one touchdown.
