Nacua's Status in Doubt

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is facing a race against time to play on Monday night against the New York Giants. Nacua missed practice for the second consecutive day on Saturday due to groin soreness. Coach Sean McVay confirmed that the receiver is officially questionable for the matchup.

McVay explained that the team is taking a cautious approach with the star player. McVay said Saturday that the team is "being smart with him as a skill player" and added that "whether or not he plays is to be determined."

The groin issue is separate from the psoas injury that kept Nacua out of action during training camp. Although Nacua practiced on Thursday, he did not feel completely like himself. McVay noted that Nacua lacked the ability to open up and really hit full speed. He was listed on Friday's injury report with a hip issue before Saturday's update.

Whittington Doubtful But Donald Set to Return

The Rams have other injury concerns in their receiver room. Jordan Whittington was added to the injury report on Friday with a quad injury. McVay announced that Whittington is listed as doubtful to face the Giants, leaving the team thin at the position.

On a brighter note for Los Angeles, star defensive lineman Aaron Donald is expected to make his return. This would be Donald's first game since coming out of retirement after spending two seasons away from the sport. When asked on Friday if he would play, Donald said "that's the plan." McVay fully backed his star defender, stating that if Donald says it, he is going.
