Good news on Kompany's health

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany is on track for a full recovery following a collapse at a training session two weeks ago. Assistant coach Aaron Danks shared the update on Friday.

Kompany was hospitalised after collapsing during a reserve team session on Oct. 23. Doctors treated him for meningeal irritation, an inflammation of the tissue around the brain or spinal cord. He has been resting at home, and the club set a policy not to involve him in football matters during his rest.

Danks said he spoke with Kompany over the phone and found him in good spirits. The assistant noted that the upcoming international break gives everyone time to see when the manager can return. Danks will remain on the sidelines for Saturday's match against Mainz. It will be the fifth game he has overseen since Kompany's absence began. After Saturday, Bayern do not play again until Nov. 20.

Big moves on and off the pitch

Bayern Munich experienced a busy period while Kompany recovered. Harry Kane became the first Bayern player in 45 years to win the Ballon d'Or. The star forward also signed a contract extension on Thursday.

Kane mentioned that Kompany might not have known about the deal before the announcement. Sporting director Christoph Freund praised Kane, calling him the best player in the world right now and stating he has exceeded all expectations from experts. Freund added that the club firmly believes Kane can maintain his level and help the team.

On the pitch, Bayern drew with German rival Borussia Dortmund and defeated Atletico Madrid on Wednesday. However, the squad also suffered a string of injuries during this stretch.
