Wembanyama Drops 43 Points as Spurs Beat Timberwolves
Victor Wembanyama scored 43 points on 34 shot attempts to lead the San Antonio Spurs past the Minnesota Timberwolves 121-111.

Wembanyama Dominates Inside and Out
Victor Wembanyama put on a huge performance on Saturday night. The 22 year old star scored a season high 43 points on a career high 34 shot attempts, leading the San Antonio Spurs to a 121-111 victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
It was the first time San Antonio won a game where Wembanyama attempted 30 or more shots. He added five blocks, becoming the first Spur to record 40 points and five blocks in a game since David Robinson in 1996. Joel Embiid was the last NBA player to accomplish the feat back in 2022.
Most of his damage came near the rim. Wembanyama made 12 of his 14 non three pointers from two feet or closer, including four dunks and four alley oops. He also hit three of his eight attempts from deep.
Team Effort Keeps Winning Streak Alive
The victory extended San Antonio's winning streak to four games. Guard De'Aaron Fox, guard Dylan Harper, and Wembanyama combined for 90 points. Harper scored 25 points on 9 of 17 shooting, which marked a regular season career high for the second year guard.
Spurs coach Mitch Johnson praised Wembanyama's growth, noting how well he connects with teammates on the floor. Johnson said that when top players play together with their teammates, it becomes nearly impossible for opponents to stop them.
Stephon Castle played 22 minutes and recorded four assists and a steal despite fighting through a migraine headache. San Antonio won the battle on the glass, outrebounding Minnesota 49-38. The Timberwolves played without Anthony Edwards due to a knee injury, while LaMelo Ball picked up four first half fouls and eventually fouled out after playing 20 minutes.
