Anthony Edwards Set for Knee Surgery, Out Up to Two Months
Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards will miss up to two months due to right knee surgery.

Edwards to undergo knee surgery
Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is set to undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee. The guard will miss up to two months while recovering from the operation.
The news comes right after a huge performance from the guard. Edwards was listed as questionable on the Minnesota injury report before Monday's matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Despite the knee trouble, he played a season high 41 minutes on the court. He scored 47 points during the game, but Minnesota fell short in a 127-125 overtime loss.
Knee history and strong start
Edwards first showed signs of discomfort during Sunday's home opener victory against the Toronto Raptors, when he began grabbing at his right knee. Before Monday's game, Timberwolves coach Chris Finch described the issue as a daily situation and stated that he was not worried about long term concerns.
This right leg is the same one that gave Edwards trouble last season when he dealt with runner's knee. During the postseason last year, he also suffered a hyperextended left knee alongside a bone bruise, though tests showed no ligament damage at that time.
The timing is tough for Minnesota, as Edwards was off to the strongest start of his career. Through his first four games this season, he averaged 33.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 48 percent from the field. The Timberwolves currently sit at 3-1 on the season and play their next game at home against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.
