Bruno Fernandes To Keep Manchester United Captaincy Says Michael Carrick
Michael Carrick confirms Bruno Fernandes remains Manchester United captain despite recent tactical dispute and benching.

Fernandes keeps armband after dropping
Michael Carrick has confirmed that Bruno Fernandes will remain Manchester United captain. The midfielder was dropped to the bench for last Sunday 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth after making outspoken comments about the team tactics.
Harry Maguire wore the armband during that match. However, Carrick made it clear that Fernandes will lead the team again when he returns to the lineup against Chelsea on Saturday. Carrick stated that there is no decision to be made and that it will be Bruno. He added that Fernandes is an important player who remains fully committed to making things better at the club.
Injury updates for Mainoo and Sesko
The squad could welcome back Kobbie Mainoo for the upcoming match against Chelsea. The midfielder returned to training this week following a recent lay off and may be included in the matchday group.
However, striker Benjamin Sesko is set for a much longer spell on the sidelines due to a shin injury. Sesko has not featured since the Carabao Cup defeat against Brighton on Sept. 16. Carrick explained that the healing process takes time and expects the forward to be out until the New Year.
Carrick stays in charge during poor run
Carrick retains his job as manager following discussions with the club hierarchy earlier this week. The team is currently on an eight game winless streak, marking their worst start to a league season since 1986.
Despite the recent struggles, the manager wants his side to push in a positive direction as they prepare for a tough trip to London.
