Chris Johnson Ring of Honor Induction Delayed by Titans
The Tennessee Titans have postponed Chris Johnson's Ring of Honor ceremony because the former running back and his family cannot travel to the game.

Ceremony Put on Hold
Former Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson will have to wait a bit longer for his induction into the franchise's Ring of Honor. The team announced on Friday that the ceremony has been postponed.
The event was originally scheduled to take place during halftime of the season opener. The Titans are playing the New York Jets at Nissan Stadium in Nashville on Sunday.
According to a statement from the team, Johnson and his family are no longer able to travel to Nashville for the game. The team wants him there in person. "Knowing how much he and his family desire to be in person at Nissan Stadium for his induction into the Titans Ring of Honor, we will postpone the official induction ceremony and look forward to celebrating the moment with them at a future date," the team said.
A Historic Career in Tennessee
Johnson was drafted by the Titans with the 24th pick in the 2008 NFL draft. He spent six seasons with the team from 2008 to 2013. During each of those six seasons, he rushed for over 1,000 yards.
His most famous season came in 2009. That year, Johnson rushed for 2,006 yards, which is the seventh highest single season rushing total in NFL history. He also added 503 receiving yards.
That gave him 2,509 yards from scrimmage, which set an NFL record. This incredible season earned him the nickname "CJ2K" and the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award.
Ring of Honor Awaits
Johnson's career numbers place him among the best to ever play for the franchise. He finished his time in Tennessee with 7,965 rushing yards, which ranks fourth in franchise history. He also scored 58 total touchdowns, which is also the fourth most in franchise history.
When his ceremony does happen, Johnson will become the 20th member of the Titans' Ring of Honor.
In June, the former running back revealed some difficult personal news. He shared that he has been diagnosed with ALS. The team plans to find a future date to celebrate his accomplishments when he is able to attend.
