Conte shuts down Manchester United rumors

Antonio Conte has pushed back against recent reports connecting him with the manager role at Manchester United. The Italian coach released a statement on social media to clarify his position after speculation grew that he might take over from Michael Carrick.

Conte stated that while his name has been linked with numerous teams in Italy and abroad, there are currently no negotiations at an advanced stage. He explained that after a successful spell in charge of Napoli, he will take the time he needs to consider how and when to return to management.

Pressure builds on Carrick after European defeat

Speculation regarding the manager position mounted following a dreadful 4-1 loss for Manchester United against Como on Wednesday night in the Champions League. That result put heavy scrutiny on Carrick, who signed a two year contract in May after previously taking over on an interim basis.

Carrick will lead United this weekend in their Premier League clash against Bournemouth. Conte, who previously won the Premier League and FA Cup during his time as Chelsea boss and also managed Tottenham Hotspur, moved to distance himself from taking charge at Old Trafford.

Conte rejects claims about his demands

In his social media post, Conte also addressed rumors about his potential requirements for taking a new job. He dismissed reports regarding large financial demands, requests for full control, or reservations about his personality, calling these assessments completely unfounded.

The former Serie A winner added that he will only hold discussions when a concrete opportunity arises. Until a real offer comes along, he said any assumptions about his professional future remain pure speculation and cannot be treated as fact. He left Napoli in June after winning the league title and has not managed a team since.
