Arteta puts past feud aside as Arsenal look to equal club record

No more bad blood

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta insists there is no lingering tension between him and Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler ahead of their Saturday clash.

After Arsenal won 1-0 in March, Hurzeler claimed only one team tried to play football and accused Arsenal of making their own rules. Arteta has now dismissed those comments.

"That's all done. That's all in the past," Arteta said. He added that he has huge respect for Hurzeler and Brighton, expecting a beautiful game at the Amex Stadium.

Chasing history and youth talent

Arsenal travel to the south coast after a perfect start to their Premier League defence, winning four out of four games. A victory on Saturday would be their eighth consecutive win in all competitions, equalling a 123 year club record.

The Gunners are coming off a Carabao Cup win against Ipswich on Tuesday. Sixteen year old Max Dowman scored twice in that game and is pushing for his first league appearance.

Arteta said the youngster must keep proving himself. "The best way to knock on the door is to do it on the pitch, not in the office," the manager said.

Injury concerns

Arsenal face some squad selection issues ahead of the trip. Defenders Ben White, Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie are all doubts for the match.

Meanwhile, Jurrien Timber is still working his way back to full fitness after recovering from a long term groin injury.

Arteta acknowledged that winning at this level is highly complicated, but his team is ready for a tough opponent.
