Chelsea prepare new January bid for Roma midfielder Manu Kone
Chelsea are ready to renew their interest in Roma midfielder Manu Kone, while Liverpool and Manchester United eye other major targets.

Chelsea and Liverpool battle for Kone
Chelsea are planning to make another move for Roma midfielder Manu Kone when the transfer window opens in January. The London club had a 60 million euro offer rejected at the end of August. Kone, who starred for France at the summer World Cup, is under contract with the Italian side until June 2029.
However, Chelsea could face competition from Liverpool, who are also looking to improve their midfield options. Liverpool have other targets on their radar too. They are monitoring Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, who is valued at 60 million euros. Camara wanted a move to the Premier League after a 55 million euro transfer to Chelsea collapsed. Liverpool are also tracking Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton and Inter Milan's Aleksandar Stankovic.
Manchester United and Roma transfer updates
In other transfer news, Manchester United looked into signing Barcelona left back Alejandro Balde on loan during the summer. Barcelona were only interested in a permanent sale for 40 million euros, and no official offer was made. The 22-year-old defender chose to stay in Spain and fight for his place under manager Hansi Flick.
Roma are also looking to make additions of their own. They are planning a bid for Real Madrid forward Endrick. The 20-year-old Brazil international previously had a loan spell at Lyon. Roma head coach Gian Piero Gasperini is reportedly a big fan of the young attacker, though it is unclear if Real Madrid will let him leave in January. Meanwhile, former Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha has been offered to Spanish club Malaga. The 33-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving Galatasaray.
