Curry Scores 44 as Warriors Top Timberwolves 119-114
Stephen Curry scored 44 points to lead the Golden State Warriors past the Minnesota Timberwolves 119-114 for their second straight win.

Curry Sparks Offense in Minneapolis
Stephen Curry scored 44 points on Wednesday night as the Golden State Warriors beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 119-114. It was the 46th time Curry scored over 40 points since turning 30 years old, setting an NBA record.
Golden State made a clear plan to attack Minnesota center Rudy Gobert by using high screen plays with Curry early in the game. Curry came out shooting, taking six shots in the opening seven minutes and adding 10 more in the second quarter. By halftime, he had 23 points and five 3 pointers, including one from 31 feet out.
Holding Off the Wolves
The Warriors built a lead as large as 24 points before Minnesota mounted a comeback. Playing without Anthony Edwards, who recently underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee, the Timberwolves forced turnovers and pushed the pace in the fourth quarter.
Curry sealed the win at the free throw line. He went 7 for 7 from the line in the final eight minutes and finished 16 for 16 overall. Curry also dove on the floor for a loose ball in the third quarter during his first game this season playing over 30 minutes. Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg added 26 points and nine rebounds, though he was frustrated by his seven turnovers.
Turnaround After Slow Start
The victory gives Golden State a 2-1 road trip after starting the season 0-3. That poor start included a 12 point collapse in the final three minutes against the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Warriors now return home to San Francisco for a six game homestand that starts against the Los Angeles Lakers.
